Twelve sailors from the Orcas high school sailing team traveled to Olympia for a weekend regatta on March 19 and 20. Six races were completed on Saturday in light NE winds and overcast skies.
Orcas Viking boat 1 sailed consistently all day against the other 33 boats in the tricky conditions giving them the lead over the entire fleet. Orcas Vikings boats 2 and 3 also sailed well and placed sixth and seventh in the competitive fleet.
On Sunday racing was cancelled due to no winds and pouring rain, giving Orcas 1 the regatta win. Complete results can be found at http://scores.hssailing.org/s16/nwisa-olympia/full-scores/
