Orcas Island Rowing Club is holding it’s third annual dinner at Orcas Center on Saturday, Feb. 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. It is a celebration for the club and friends. It is its only major social event of the year and primary fund raiser.

There will be information available on what the club does, with crew and coaches on-hand to talk about what they do.

There will be live entertainment performed by the crew family, including Forrest Gropp performing “Fire Poi.”

There will be a regatta the next day, Sunday, March 1, starting at 11 a.m. at the boathouse on the south end of Cascade Lake. The regatta is an opportunity for novices to taste racing in a friendly local event. It’s also a chance for islanders to see what “crew” rowing is all about.

All are invited to join the Orcas crew team for the evening and the regatta. Dinner is by Charles Dalton, owner of The Kitchen. He will craft a four-course meal for $35.

People are encouraged to donate what they can afford beyond the dinner cost to support the club.
